The Opportunity
Mount Vernon is a destination to design a better world. From theatrical productions to weekly chapel, musical performances to TEDtalk-style events, we are seeking an individual who has the technical skill to help our team design and execute events that are unique and high-quality. We are seeking an individual who is a remarkable communicator and relational networker; someone who seeks design exceptional events and can solve problems in real-time. As our Visual & Performing Arts Team seeks to re-imagine arts education, we are seeking a technician who has skills in audio engineering/production, theatrical light rigging, set construction, and a passion for working with students. We seek someone who is detail-oriented, organized & consistent; someone who is interested in breaking the mold by treating students like professionals. This is the kind of pioneering work we are ready to explore in our new facilities and we need someone passionate to help make it a reality.

Skilled technician & designer: sets, audio, lighting
Passionate student-centered instructor/trainer who can inspire & mobilize students
Highly interpersonal/relational team-player who can work with a wide variety of people
Organized event-coordinator who can develop/manage a complex workflow
Detailed planner who can break projects into actionable tasks
Networked professional who can connect our students with industry experts
Visionary leader who can see the big picture and work toward that vision strategically
*Recording studio/video production experience preferred
**Music/theater background a plus
**Projection mapping experience a plus

Key Responsibilities
Support the mission, vision, and strategic plan of the School
Coordinate school-wide technical needs
Manage technical equipment
Co-design arts events/theater productions
Teach theater tech classes 2-4 hours a day
Sponsor Middle School & Upper School theater tech club
Coordinate students to help with school events
Collaborate with Middle School/Upper School theater directors
Other duties as assigned
Report to Director of Visual & Performing Arts
